FAQs

What happens when I schedule an estimate?

During the Estimate, our Certified Arborist will meet you on your property to discuss your concerns and goals for your trees and shrubs. They will evaluate the health of your trees and shrubs to create a proposal based on your landscaping needs and their expert advice.

How do I contract Terry’s Tree Service for services?

We ask that clients provide written acceptance of services by signing the work proposal and sending it to us via email, fax or mail. If approving only a portion of the proposal, please list the item numbers (ex: I approve item #1 and #2) on your email. For fax or mail approvals, cross off the items you opt out on and initial next to the items that you would like to proceed with. Please sign and date the bottom of the proposal before faxing or mailing. If approving of the work while meeting with the Arborist during the Estimate, you may sign the written copy of the proposal and the Arborist will notify the office of your acceptance.

Do I need to be home when tree service is being done?

Your time is valuable and we understand that your schedule may conflict. The majority of our clients are not home during week day business hours. The client does not need to be present during the performance of the work. Our crews are provided with a work order reflecting the services and job specifications contracted by the client along with a map of the property.

How do you handle scheduling?

We try to accommodate our client’s schedule however, we are a weather dependent service company and this may affect our scheduled routes. Our scheduling department will efficiently schedule services in advance, you will receive confirmation via email or phone regarding the expected service date.

Do I need to leave a check?

Upon completion of the services, Terry’s Tree Service will email or mail you the invoice(s) reflecting all the services completed. The invoice payment is due upon receipt. We accept checks and all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and Amex). You can click here to pay online. If you are present upon completion of the work, you may also hand cash or check to your Crew Leader.

Failure to remit full payment within the payment term will result in a finance charge of 15% per month. There will be a $35 fee charged for all checks returned to our office for non-sufficient funds.

Will all my services be done at the same time? (i.e. stump grinding, plant health care, treatments, pruning)?

Terry’s Tree Service has different divisions within our organization, therefore we may dispatch different crews depending on the services. For example, the general tree work crew will perform the tree removal and pruning services. If there is stump grinding, another crew may be dispatched to perform that work (after a utility locate has been completed on the property for grinding). The Plant Health Care services will be performed by the Plant Health Care Specialist separately based on the scope of the work. You may receive multiple invoices depending on the services performed. We will bill you only for services completed.

What kind of clean-up is done?

Depending on the scope of work contracted, the practices of our general tree work crews are to chip up the resulting debris and remove from your property. If contracted, large wood will be hauled and disposed of (this may be performed by a different crew). The areas where work was performed will be blown off with the leaf blower and raked.

Where does the green waste go?

We are charged to deliver and dispose of resulting debris such as woodchips that are chipped from pruning, removal, hauling of large wood. The materials delivered to the center are recycled.

What does it mean to be an ISA Certified Arborist?

Arborists are trained professionals that are knowledgeable and equipped to provide proper tree care. They are also required to continue their education in order to maintain their certification, ensuring their knowledge is updated on the latest arboriculture techniques.
